Elephant Baby Quilt

I just finished up another baby quilt. I am soooo in love with the backing fabric. It is fun, vibrant and girly (without being pink!)

New Addition and a Finish

I’m so excited by our newest addition! I have acquired a gently loved HQ16 by Handi Quilter. It is an older 2006-ish model (before the tilt screens or updated lights.) It didn’t come with a table but my wonderful handy husband rigged this set up from a set of steel shelves from Home Depot.

He even cut the shelves down to be the perfect height for little ole me (5’ even.) It’s quite a bit heavier than my Brother 1300 I was using before so it requires a bit more force to move it around the tracks. The tracks themselves were not in the best shape with several nicks on the tracks and carriage. I was able to sand them out though.
I’ve heard good things about the edge rider wheels and tracks from Urban Elementz. They are supposed to really help the machine glide. They are rather pricey (around $500.) I don’t think I’ll buy them until I’ve had a chance to try them out in person.
I loaded up my first quilt, which happened to be a custom ordered Baby Name Quilt, and finished it off in about 30 minutes. It should have gone quicker but learning the placement of things and the quirks of a new machine/system is going to take some time. I’m really loving the stitch regulator and the 12” of sewing space (as opposed to the 3-5” I had before.)

Penny Sale is Back!

It's time for another Penny Quilting Sale!
Sale ends 9/9/12

If you still have that quilt sitting in your home, you know... the one that was meant to be a Christmas present for last YEAR. Here is your chance to get it over and done with in time to gift it THIS year. An all over meander/stipple is a great finish to quilts that will be loved often and will require constant washing. This is great for picnic quilts, baby quilts, pet quilts and throws.

Or you can choose from all over loops:
I will help you get those tops finished for 1 cent per square inch. That means that a baby quilt that measures 42"x54" can be finished for $22.68. An 80"x90" queen size quilt can be finished for $72.

For this sale there is a $20 minimum charge. Let me know if you have multiple small projects (pillows, table runners, place mats etc.) We may be able to combine them on to the same backing. One side of the quilt must measures 84" or less.

Just fill out the customer worksheet and I'll get back to you with a firm price and an estimated turn around time. Right now I'm able to return most quilts within 2 weeks of receiving them!!

Here are some quilts I have finished with an all over meander/stipple:
