Quilting Services:
Machine Quilting:
Here is an example of how to calculate the quilting cost. We will use a 50" x 60" throw quilt
Square Inches:
Take the width of the quilt and multiply it by the length of the quilt
50 x 60 = 3,000 square inches
Cost of Quilting:
Take the total number of square inches and multiply it by the cost per square inch (see chart)
3,000 x 0.015 = $45.00

Batting: You must provide your own batting. I recommend using quality batting such as from The Warm Company, Hobbs Batting or Quilters Dream batting. I will not quilt on cheap quality batting as you will not like the results after a few washing and it will not work well with my machine.
Thread: I currently use polyester threads designed for long arm machine quilting. I use the same thread on the top and in the bobbin. Some of my favorite brands are So Fine, Essential Pro and Glide threads. I charge a $5 flat fee for thread per quilt.
Optional Add-on Services:
Binding:
Here is an example of how to calculate the cost for binding. We will use a 50" x 60" throw quilt
Linear Feet:
Take the length of the quilt plus the width of the quilt and multiply it by 2, then divide by 12. Round up to the nearest whole number.
50 + 60 =110
110 x 2 = 220
220 / 12 = 18.33 = 19 linear feet (rounded up)
Cost for binding: Take the linear feet and multiply it by the cost of the binding option
(continuing with our example) 19 linear feet x option #1 = cost of binding
19 x 1.5 = $28.50
Binding #1: Customer will provide fabric and I will make 2.5" double fold binding cut on the straight grain. The binding will be shipped along with the quilt, rolled up and ready for you to attach to your quilt.
$1.50 per linear foot ($25 minimum charge)
Binding #2: Customer will provide fabric and I will make 2.5" double fold binding cut on the straight grain. The quilt will be squared up. The binding will be attached to the front of the quilt. The customer will attach the binding to the back.
$2.00 per linear foot ($30 minimum charge)
Binding #3: Customer will provide fabric and I will make 2.5" double fold binding cut on the straight grain. The quilt will be squared up. The binding will be attached to the quilt and finished off by machine.
$2.50 per linear foot ($35 minimum charge)
Squaring up:
After quilting your quilt, I will square it up so that when you receive your quilt you are ready to attach the binding. I will use your outermost border as a guide.
